Be Careful What You Ask For

Well you all know I am getting married next year. I asked my beloved about how we should configure the outdoor area for our guests to eat and drink and dance and celebrate with us in comfort and style. Comfort, yes that was and is the operative word here. He took style to an entirely different level.

Ok so he has this patio area in the backyard and I say to him " we will have to rent a bar/buffet for this area for the wedding".

Rent? He will have no part of it, thus the building began....................

This is what the patio looked like before.....................

Quaint yes but his vision was sooooo much bigger!

He measured, he sawed, he cut and he hammered............just sketched it out on a piece of paper and ran with it.

He worked on it for 4 weeks........................faithfully!

First time laying tile................No Problem!

Wait for it, wait for it...............................

Unbelievable!!!

He's a plumber, an electrician, and a carpenter all in one. I like to think of him as my own personal EVERYTHING!!!!

He gave me an entire built-in-outdoor kitchen. I was speechless!

Its more than I could have ever asked for...................Just Like Him!!!

So happy he is mine, Life is very very good.

A Very Thankful Giveaway

I have been out of touch with so many lovely friends I made since I started blogging and although I was MIA for a while, I still received emails and well-wishes from my loyal friends. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to have a little give-away. Just some treasures I have collected along the way that I would like to pass on to a blog friend and follower.

I have 2 little white bird candle holders, a sweet little green floral tea cup and a couple of vintage (looking) ornaments along with some little white picture frames that I added some of my artistic touches to.
I will add a few more things in the box so this is just a little teaser.

If you would like to enter my give-away, please leave me a comment. I will draw a name on Sunday November 21st. You can check my blog on Monday the 22nd to see who the winner is.

Thank you all for your friendships your ideas, your comments and for just stopping by to have a look around.

God Bless,

Debbie Kay

Tipping The Scales...............

Been wanting a scale, a vintage scale to display on my kitchen counter. Ever notice when you are looking for something specific, it is impossible to find? Well this weekend changed all that.

This beauty was just sitting on the shelf waiting for me and screaming for the creative touch of my favorite guy.................

Armed with a can of brown spray paint, he was happy to oblige....................

Talk about turning trash into treasure!

The smile on my face actually hurt!!!

So pretty and so perfect for my kitchen counter. We went out to Riverside over the weekend and looked through a 35,000 square foot antique mall for one. Had to come all the way back to our home town to find it at the local antique mall. I was elated and my guy was so happy to help find that scale!

Maple might be nice for French Toast (syrup) lol but the minute I laid eyes on this, I knew it was destined to be white.

Drum roll please ..........................

Love it and love him! My sweetheart told me how much he enjoys helping me with all my treasure transformations. He makes me so happy!

I am working on a "Thanksgiving Give-Away" so please watch for my posting. I am putting together some treasures that I would like to pass on to my faithful blog visitors old and new alike.

Smiles..........

Quick Stop On The Way............

Made a quick stop at the Salvation Army the other day and much to my surprise, it was "half price day". Who knew? I didn't even know they did that. I scored these little treasures for less than $5.00! I just know that candlestick is probably going to see a can of spray paint......, I might put it in my guest bath and if so, it will have to stay dark......no frills in there.
Love these delicate little egg cups & saucer...........so primm & proper

Did I ever mention that I love milk glass? This urn was priced at $2 but half price is still my friend!!!

Now this is where I need your help my dear blogerettes. Does anybody have any idea what these are? There were like 20 of them there. Could they be for flatware?

Thank you for any assistance you can offer, I have no idea what purpose they serve but they are so pretty.

Thank you for visiting. Happy Fall!

This N That

Received this festive mumm from my fiance's sister. Happen to be going to the Goodwill that day and found this adorable cherub pot for $.50 , it has a little chip in it, but that's what I love about thrift shop finds.

Soooo happy I made that stop.

Since my mother is not going to be with us for Thanksgiving, I wanted to send a little fall basket to her. I got inspiration from Becca from Bluebird Roses and. She made a beautiful basket for her mom who has been runnin around caring for a sick relative. Stop by and visit her beautiful blog, she is so creative.

I filled it with stuff I thought my mom might like; Pumpkin colored socks, Pumpkin Spice Handsoap, some festive and cheery dish towels and a copy of BHG magazine.

Finished it off with a little hand-written note to cheer her spirits...............hope she likes it!

Added a cute little harvest pillow to my ceramic pumpkins.

Well I am glad Halloween is over, I will enjoy my fall decor through Thanksgiving and then the big task of Christmas decorating begins.

Happy Monday,

Debbie Kay
