Looking Forward To A Slower Pace

Hi gals, I can't believe the hustle & bustle of the holidays is over. Family has gone home, the presents are opened and wrapping paper is just a big pile for the garbage man to pick up. I had the day off today and worked on restoring order to the household. So much to do after the holidays.
I have been working myself into a complete and utter mess before the holidays so it is my intention to slow down the pace as I prepare for the New Year ahead.

Don't get me wrong, I adore the holidays, family time, cooking, cleaning, baking, feathering our nest...........

But now that Christmas 2011 is behind us, I am looking forward to the New Year ahead of us and yearning to do more for me. If I don't take care of ME then I can't be the best wife and mother God intended me to be.

Smiles & Serenity,

Debbie

Hi Debbie. I am here to catch up with you. Did you have a nice Christmas? We sure did. But I am going to take all week to recover! Very busy, lots of stuff going on, and I am so happy it is all over!! Hope to see you soon!

Very true. I didn't do much today but go to Barnes & Noble with my daughter and make a pot of soup. Get some down time for mom. You deserve it.

I start prepping for Christmas right after Halloween, when I make the first of whatever I can put in the freezer for my Christmas Eve party. So by the time we get to the last week of December, I am totally 'Christmased Out' and ready to get my house back in order again. I think a lot of us would agree with how you feel!
I've already put most of the decorations away, and we took the tree down yesterday. (Two weeks is enough time to safely keep a real tree in the house, I think.) You know what's nice, though? Taking out my non-holiday decorations that I haven't seen since September! It's almost like new stuff!
Have a very Happy New Year!

I'm glad you had a wonderful Christmas. I am in slow down mode, too. It has been nice having the last two Mondays off. Have a Happy New Year dear friend, Patty
