pantry; a small room or cupboard in which provisions, cooking utensils, etc., are kept.

My husband has been a very very busy man
2 weeks ago he decided he could not stand trying to find things in the "closet" we were using as a pantry. It was a broom closet in the hallway that he built some shelves in (a few years ago) but it was so hard to organize and harder to find what you needed because everything got shoved to the back. Needless to say we wasted a lot of money buying things we didn't need because we didn't know we already had 10 cans of soup.....well you get it.
I came home from work on Friday a couple of weeks ago and found this

He knocked the wall out in that little closet and pushed it out 5 feet into the garage.

I was speechless! He is not a contractor by trade but I tell you ladies, this man of mine can do "anything".

He installed a gorgeous light

Carpet on the floor and customized shelving.....floor to ceiling!

A place for everything and everything in its place.

For now my aprons hang on the door but he has promised me one of those pretty glass "pantry" doors.
I just love my new pantry and oh how I love the man who built it with his loving hands.....for me!!

Smiles,

Debbie

HI Debbie, oh this is wonderful. I love it. I have a small pantry and boy does it save me. It overflows sometimes because I stick stuff in there instead of putting it where it should go because someone shows up and I have to clean real quick...but it is wonderful to have. Love your aprons and how you hun them on the door. Love the red aprons! Girl you got it goin' on! Read through all your posts back to Christmas...your home is just lovely. Loved your Christmas tree too! Have a blessed week.

Oh Debbie Kay, that is so nice. What a great husband to do that for you.
I have a small bathroom that was a laundry room at one time. I have always thought that it would be a perfect pantry. It is right off the kitchen. (I hate having a bathroom off the kitchen.) Maybe someday I can talk DH into having it made into a pantry. But until then, I will be taking the small bedroom that is off my kitchen that was once a sunroom and turn it into a pantry room. For now I have a couple of pantry cabinets and a wire rack in the laundry room. No fun but it helps.
I think those glass Pantry doors are so neat!
Have a great week and enjoy your pantry! I think every cook needs one, don't you?
