I am still around

I have been out of blogging & posting & sharing with all of my friends, but I just wanted to say hello and let you know I am very well, very happy, very loved and VERY BLESSED. My life has been changed over the past year and I have had a lot of ups and downs. I see that I have reached 100 posts & I am working on a giveaway. Stick around I will be posting soon.

My Project Partner

Not only is he handsome, smart, sweet, kind and loving, he loves to tackle a project. This modified sewing machine cabinet was a cast-off from my sweethearts mom & he asked me if I liked it. It was nice in its present condition but we both knew it needed something more.

One trip to Lowes & in less than an hour, this is what he transformed it into.

Antique White paint, a little dijon color to make a statement, some new knobs & that piece is "all ours".

I think I might keep him!

Happy Spring

Love this beautiful Southern California weather. Highs in the low 80's today and a gentle breeze. I am so thankful for the sunshine. Found this sweet little wooden sign at Kohl's (clearance) for $2.99 and couldn't resist. I dont really care too much for Kohl's but a friend of mine needed to exhange a few items and I figured I would tag along.

Found this sweet little rose print for $3.99 on clearance. I probably wouldnt go out of my way to go back to Kohl's but I am sure glad I scored these sweet little treasures. I'm heading out to check on my roses.

I hope Spring is in full bloom wherever you call home.

Some Sweet Treasures

My sweetheart & I drove to Temecula on Friday to visit the girls at La Maison Rustique and although I didn't return home with a large haul, it was a beautiful day and I got to see some girlfriends whom I have not seen for quite some time.

We enjoyed the day together and strolled through Old Town Temecula. So many shops and interesting places to just roam in and out of. I picked up these cute little silver butter knives...............

He asked "what are you going to do with 3 butter knives?" and I replied, "my treasures don't serve a practical purpose, they serve "my purpose". I guess he will have to make a few trips to the barn with me before he fully understands my flea market mentality huh?

(Come on girls, I know I am not alone on this one).

Found this beautiful covered dish at Serendipity in Old Town Temecula. The lady said it was a "tea caddy" and the cost was $12.00. I think it was worth it.

Now the conversation piece of our day was this silver bon bon spoon. I saw it, I wanted it and at the cost of $4.00 I felt that even if I never serve bon bons from it, I must have it to display with my other silver pieces.

My sweetheart was baffled by the very idea of being served bon bons one at a time from a spoon with slots in it, I explained to him that proper etiquette requires one to enjoy a small taste of a fine confection rather than over-indulge in a box of See's Candy. Nice to be back to blogging. Thank you for your comments.
